the voice of reason

"No degree of prosperity could justify the accumulation of large amounts of highly toxic substances which nobody knows how to make safe and which remain an incalculable danger to the whole of creation for historical or even geological ages. To do such a thing is a transgression against life itself, a transgression infinitely more serious than any crime perpetrated by man. The idea that a civilization could sustain itself on such a transgression is an ethical, spiritual, and metaphysical monstrosity. It means conducting the economical affairs of man as if people did not matter at all." -- E. F. Schumacher “Small is Beautiful”

This statement sums up perfectly the insanity of nuclear power generation. We are not qualified to be taking these risks or making these choices.

Scott and his harp

Deep and sincere thanks to Scott for coming out and singing wonderful songs to us.

What a great evening!

We had a lovely evening! The buffet was quite yummy, especially Janet's handmade pimiento cheese on some wonderful whole grain bread. Lovely wine and lovely people! We had many of our silent auction items purchased and we saw some new faces and some old friends. Scott Aycock was fantastic - storytelling at its best. Thanks to my family ~ they helped with carting and carrying a lot (!!) and helped me set up everything. My sons played beautifully with me! We had a great time! We had faithful foundation supporters helping at every point (Many Thanks) and kudos to our Executive Director Janet Hutto for all her hard work. We appreciate everyone who attended Carrie's birthday celebration! And remember - Save the Date ~ August the 8th! :-)

Taking action

Here are two of your Foundation Board Members standing for healthcare instead of warfare on Peoria earlier this year with our BEAUTIFUL banner created by the talented and enlightened artist Gwen Ingram, who illustrated Carrie's wind power book, "Harvesting the Wind - Fourteen Centuries of Wind Power". Gwen will have some of her art in our silent auction at the May 24th fundraising event! She is also a Foundation Board Member. If you are interested in helping continue Carrie's work, look for this banner on Harvard at 29th to find us today! You may also email me.

Don't miss tonight's benefit concert!
